Furthering the plot, the game takes place during the Cold War, where the four players are test subjects in an experiment that would probably fail some safety audits to say the least.ĭespite being advertised as a multiplayer game, Red Barrels states that you can actually play through this whole experience on your own. Set in the era of the Cold War, The Outlast Trials will allow players to face the horrors that await by themselves or with other test subjects… 💉Īccording to the developer, the game is not a sequel to the most recent title in the franchise, Outlast 2. It does however take place in the same universe, so we’re more than likely in store for some intense jump scares along with the series trademark creepy atmosphere that makes your skin crawl. The game will take four players and put them together in a co-op experience where they will try and survive some pretty terrifying ordeals.
